SATURDAY SAUSAGE SIZZLE

Thank you to Brisco's in Mt Wellington for allowing us to set up a sausage sizzle and stall outside the shop on Saturday.
The encouragement we recieved from people was fantastic. Thank you for your support.
The stall raised about $450.

THE CAR IS ON IT"S WAY TO AKRON

Finally we have all the new sponsor logos on the car and it is ready to go.
Steve, Ted the caretaker and Mr Williams secured the transit box and put in new struts to ensure that it was strong.
The car was lifted in, after a last photo shoot with Jessie from Eastern Suburbs Newspapers. The bolts were screwed in tightly and the boxes put in safely.
The tools were packed, along with the sponsor badges and all the bits and pieces we think we may need in Akron.
Travel safely. We look forward to doing the final tune up in Akron on the 20th of July

Last Week at School

This week Mrs Prashar and Mrs Berge, kicked off the Hot Lunch Friday and what a great response. We made over 150 lunches with a profit of about $300. Then in the afternoon, the Friday cafe was a tasty effort, with cakes by Abigail, Rosa and Elliot.
We also commenced selling raffle tickets, with prizes of a 'City Cake Company' voucher for a burthday cake and some clothing packs for 0- 6 month olds provided by 'Tiger and Lily"

This week Abigail and Rosa set up a craft and cake stall as part of the Friday cafes.
Abigail has made beautiful felt hair ties and beaded hair clips along with fudge and cup cakes. Rosa is a great little baker and her cakes looked as good as they tasted.
Their efforts raised $92.

Mandarins: good for you and good for us!

The Soapbox team were kindly donated a box of mandarins by Parnell parent Angela Heape. She even bagged these organic gems for us to sell. The mandarins were delicious, perfect size for lunch boxes and snacks. After school on Tuesday afternoon the team set up a stall and within 5 minutes we were sold out. Thank you for your support and we are sorry if you missed out.

Abbie's Letter!

Abbie sent a letter to the Prime Minister John Key, who is a neighbour of the school, telling him of our success. On Thursday she got a letter back. WOW!!! Today, Friday she recieved a parcel delivered by courier from Parliament Buildings. Abigail kept us in suspense until after school when parents and some of the team arrived at school On opening the parcel Abbie found two bottles of condiments both signed in silver pen by Mr Key. Also in the parcel were 3 of Mr Keys personal pens. Abbie has taken them home for dad, Jason, to photograph and then we will find a way to auction them and raise funds for her trip to the USA to support the Soap Box challenge.

Dinner with East Auckland Rotary

On Monday we all went as guests to dinner with the East Auckland Rotary. They are the group that hosted the heats held at Morrin Rd. It was really great, we got to sit together at a big table and were served drinks while people arrived. The dinner was fantastic and Chairman Rae organised us a huge bowl of ice cream to eat with our desert. They had a speaker who talked about his time on the survey ship Monowai and the rescue they took part in in the Pacific. He also told us about the Seamans Mission in Quay St the ways they help sailors who are in port. We put up the slide show, that we had created during the day, on the screen during dinner. Karan spoke about the challenge so far and we thanked the Rotary for organising the derby.
